September Status Update

Another month, another status update.

As you know iOS 7 was released today.

There are a lot of obvious changes and a lot of changes for developers as well.

The good news with Auteureist is that I am now using it full time. That means it’s stable enough for everyday use. I have retired from using version 2. The app is therefore in alpha stage.

That’s the bad news. I don’t think it is ready for general release yet.

iOS 7, from a developer point of view, is more flexible and better in a lot of ways. However, it is not without its issues. Also, Auteureist version 3 is a lot more capable than earlier versions have been. I won’t go into the details.

I was hoping to release Auteureist in time for NaNoWriMo in November. However, work, life and 7 are getting in the way. This is a hobby for me. I develop after work and on weekends when commitments allow. My new deadline is January since I will be using the app in NaNoWriMo and that will make development difficult.

I would have loved to get it out in November but I don’t want to release something that still has known issues and things I want to tweak. Believe me, as a well known food celebrity says, your patience will be rewarded.

I just wrote 224 words (0.9 pages) in Auteureist™.
